Safety of Agents (SagA)
نویسنده
چکیده
THE THEME of this project are the future information agents , also known as ubiquitous or pervasive agents. Ubiquitous information agents have computation abilities and the power to act on their physical environments. Examples include complex systems such as robot companions, self-driving cars (e.g., Stanford or Google), simpler agents as in smart elderly homes and AAL, mobile travel devices, smart refrigerators, or electronic transactions agents. Ubiquitous agents operate in the living environments of people, interacting with (helping) people in their daily life. In consequence, the safety of the decisions and actions of such information agents is of paramount importance. THE OBJECTIVE is to automatically control ubiquitous agents for achieving a desired goal under the restrictions of safety contracts. This would imply a paradigm shift, from the current rule-based systems to goal-based systems . Example: consider a system that shall contain patients in a certain area, unless they are in view of a nurse. • A rule-based system would require the human expert to describe through rules how to restrict the movements of the patients and nurses in order to achieve this goal. • A goal-based system would simply infer/synthesise suitable rules by itself from the goals set by the user.

Estimation of Polychlorinated Biphenyls Intake through Fish Oil-Derived Dietary Supplements and Prescription Drugs in the Japanese Population
Background: Oily fish and their extracted oils may be a source of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) which can induce toxic effects on the consumers. The main aim of this survey was estimation of PCBs intake through fish oil-derived dietary supplements and prescription drugs in the Japanese population. Methods: PCBs levels were determined in 20 fish oil-derived dietary supplements and 6 oil-deri...
متن کاملThe Saga Security System: A Security Architecture for Open Distributed Systems
In the paper we present an overview of Saga Security System, a security architecture in open distributed systems. An agent in Saga Security System is called a Saga Agent. The authorization model in Saga Security System (Saga authorization model) supports the novel concept of a service path and provides uniform and flexible protection appropriate for advanced computational models such as objecto...

Girls in India face discrimination from cradle to grave in different forms and in different arenas of life. However, it is long survival of women compare to men (due to menopause older women free from risk of bearing children in later life and live longer (Cromie, 1998), which makes them 48% of population (Census, 2011). At every step, she is in patriarchal shackles with no opportunity to escap...
متن کاملThe Aprotinin Story: Lessons in Drug Regulation and Safety
Issues of drug regulation and safety are a familiar concern within the pharmaceutical industry and often do not emerge until several years after a drug has been on the market. The antifibrinolytic drug aprotinin (Trasylol) was developed by Bayer Pharmaceuticals and approved to prevent excessive bleeding in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting surgery. After several years of wides...
متن کاملA New Authorization Model and its Mechanism Using Service Paths in Open Distributed Environments
In open distributed systems multiple software agents or objects work in cooperation to achieve some goal Therefore we need an authorization model that can control security and trust relationships of agents Saga Security Sys tem does o er such an auhorization model as well as a security mechanism both of which are thoroughly discussed in this paper In the model the unit of authorization is a ser...
